Thanks Michael, I've been away in Aberdeen, so missed a few posts. Had a conversation today & it now appears that is the latest.

The reason we didn't get dla,s back was due to the fact the capacity wasn't enough

Although the difference in capacity between the DLAs and Olympians at Southport is 1. A single seat!

Is capacity much of a problem, especially as they are intended for school services? DLAs are more accessible, in much better internal condition and far more suited to being used on town services if and when the need arises. They are also regularly using single deckers on the schools now. The Olympians are well past their best and a real retrograde step for the depot in being high-floor.

I think the Olympians can still do their job, but the DLA's are light years ahead of them despite being just a year younger. The olympians feel old and narrow when you board them though Anyway the DLA / Olympian argument is another subject so I will leave it at that.

Not doubting you Skemnational, I just find it an odd claim for them to make when they did accept Olympians.

Another old stalwart bites the dust. It would be good if one of the ex gas buses were preserved by a trust/enthusiast. Saw 7639 on 42/44 today.

Yep your right there. These were the 'Ports 1st low floor buses excepting 5311 which came here fresh out of the box as N311DKF before it got replayed as P311 HEM. But it was only on demo for a Saturday or 2 on. P&R...

If you wanna save of the ex gas darts ya better be quick cos theyre going across the moors otherwise....

It seems a waste especially as they've recently been through P&P. I wonder if they have hidden, costly problems?......
