RE: Northern Trains Ltd
So Northen is to receive 17 x 3 car 323 to replace 15 x 4 car 319. The 323s may be considered a better unit but they are too small for the services that that are expected to operate. All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |

The 319s are becoming unreliable and are slow, hence the reason why northern opted to keep the 323s and get rid of the 319s. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonesy3001/ If it's not in london they dont want to know |

The capacity difference between an 80-metre 319 and 69-metre 323 is negligible SK15 GZG

Salford Crescent being probably the largest station where that's the case. (Note anywhere on an electrified line that can take a 6 car 185, can also take a 6 car 323.) A 323 actually has more standard class seats than a 9 car Pendolino albeit in a higher density 3+2 formation. |

RE: Northern Trains Ltd
Trains haven't run all day on some routes and are still continuing to be cancelled with no replacement road transport, even where the weather conditions have improved. |

RE: Northern Trains Ltd
Reportedly due to the weather disruption 195117 was sent ECS from Chester to Manchester Victoria via Northwich and Denton. The first passenger service of the day for Manchester via Altrincham departed Chester at 15:40. |
