Looking back over the operators history of the 22 in recent years, its seems the 22 just isnt commercially viable

Just to be sure, is this the Chester 7 or the Ellesmere Port 7, as I think they are both operated from Chester garage?

Just picking up the issue of similarly numbered routes in the area, I think it would reduce so much confusion if all services in the area could have different numbers.

Ah, thanks - so the diagrams for a large number of services will have to be redone in the area if Stagecoach don't operate it in the future, due to current interworking.
The Ellesmere Port 7 does seem to be a bit of a strange route.

It would have to be an alternative bid as the tender has gone out for an every 40 minute service and will start serving Percival Road again in the off peak.

Seems to be a trend at the moment with quite a few Arriva routes also going down to every 40 minutes (with one also down to every 45 minutes at certain times).

Was on a dinner hour 22 service from Chester to West Kirby about 10 days ago.

There is definitely passengers on the route , Little Neston , Neston Greenfields , Neston tesco , Parkgate Square , Heswall Bus station , irby Mill Hill , Frankby cemetery where the only locations where passengers boarded.

What could you do to improve the service , think Stagecoach have tried everything possible with all the recent service revisions , maybe going back to operating via Arrowe Park Hospital

I think

1. Having a clockface Timetable
2. Perhaps running via Ness Gardens
3. Serving Arrowe Park (however this does increase the length of the journey)
4. Some journeys serving Neston High School
5. Perhaps serving shooting Station with cross-ticketing available

However it will need public support as it barely breaks even anyway.
