Trains resume again tomorrow at South Parkway mainline
Visited Lime Street MainLine today took train to Huyton and back to have a nosey at what's been going on. Northern are using platform 1&2 at present, the middle line has been removed between platforms 1&2 with new signals in place. Platform 2 is accessed by a new point at the top of platform 1. Lots of work ongoing in the tunnel approach, A ballast train was stationed in the tunnels. Platforms 4 at Huyton and Roby in use for the St Helens Central / Wigan and Preston services. A couple of pics on Flickr for you to show changes.
Here's the new live signalling diagram with the new layout.

Nobody seems to have told whoever timed the pendolino.s diverted via Earlestown tomorrow - at least this time they aren't going via Manchester when Crewe-Winwick is available.
