No Mersey Ferrries again today. If this happens when the trains are off it will be poor
Liverpool Echo now reporting no ferries until early next week
I have been told the Snowdrop is suffering technical problems and Royal Iris of the Mersey is still being tested after recent repairs.
If they had kept the Royal Daffodil in service instead of letting her rot away in Birkenhead Docks they might not have had this problems.
They was trying to make savings at the time she was mothballed , with the best will in the world , who would have thought one of the ferries would run aground though.
This year has not been one of Mersey Ferries finest years has it .
Was the plan at first to keep it in working order and loan it out?
That one in the dock if they dont watch out will go just like the Royal Iris and become a rust hulk .
Some more bad news for the Mersey Ferries , as if it could not get any worse for them , it has now been revealed that there will be no service until at least the second week of November.
The Royal Iris of the Mersey is currently suffering technical problems with her engine and is expected to be out of action for four weeks , she only just came back into service after running aground near to the Manchester Ship Canal Entrance at Eastham.
Snowdrop is currently off having her regular maintenance check up , but is now expected to be finished earlier than expected , to pick up the service before any long term damage to the viability of the ferries can happen.
It's been a bad year for Mersey Ferries .
Mersey Ferries is to resume operation from 10am tomorrow
Lets just hope that 2017 gives us a better year.
