I think the worse ones were replaced with the same covers used on the 135 buses but it’s only a few.
Go North West services subject to "short notice cancellations" due to the national driver shortage.

Quote:Short notice cancellations on our routes
Today Fri 17th Sep 2021

Due to a national shortage of drivers, we are really sorry that we are having to make some short notice cancellations on routes across our network.

The national labour shortage is being felt across many sectors, with those businesses reliant on skilled drivers and engineers – including bus companies like Go North West – feeling the effects the hardest.

We are working hard to avoid cancelling trips, but where buses are being cancelled, we are aiming to provide details of affected journeys through the Go North West app. Due to the nature of the cancellations, it may not always be possible to share details in advance, though we are doing our best to avoid consecutive buses being cancelled, or first and last trips not running.

This is a short term problem, and we are working around the clock to resolve the situation. We are recruiting more and more colleagues each week, with new drivers joining our Driver Academy every day, though there is added pressure on the system with lots of companies trying to get new drivers through their driving tests all at the same time.

Thank you for your patience as we work through what is a difficult time for everybody. Please remember to be kind to your driver – many of our colleagues are working overtime to keep you moving, and are under a lot of pressure themselves.

Noticed yesterday a decker on Free Bus route 2. Don't know if that's unusual or a common occurrence these days as I hadn't been in to Manchester city centre for months.

It’s completely normal. Unbranded deckers regularly get allocated to free bus boards if regular optares are unavailable.
69197 appears to of been taking out of service last night and is due at Thornton's on Monday for conversion to a driver trainer.

Wonder how many Euro 6 conversions are still to be completed to allow the other 7 Euro 3 B7RLEs to be withdrawn

Apparently the conversions are estimated to be complete by Christmas. There’s still ongoing work on the citaros so they could potentially still be here into 2022 but I doubt for long - shame really as now they have been painted they actually look so much tidier.
It is believed on the London bus forum that 16 Volvo B5LH - MCV EvoSetis are heading here from Go-Ahead London once they lose route 63 later this month.

This seems unlikely because the ex-First Volvo B9TLs are being refurbished and medium-term vehicle needs will depend on how franchising in the area pans out.

They are good for Clean air zone. Manchester is a dumping ground until they have won any bid to run buses in Manchester if not they will move any good buses out same with others they could if they wanted pull every bus out of manchester just before there little to stop them if they are really bitter but unlikey as no matter what it be a big group taking it over and a clean hand over should happen as most managerment are friends at top level.

Most of Vision bus are ex London buses with Middle door removed and a paint job.
