Evening. Latest news from Greater Dublin is the transfer of commuter routes in the 126 group from Bus Éireann to Go-Ahead Ireland. GAI have opened a new depot in Newbridge and some VDL futura double decks have transferred over. GAI have also received some new SB3, Sunsundegui bodied Volvo B8s. Bit like the commuter plaxton Stagecoach operate in Scotland, these are part coach and part bus. Took my first spin today, not too bad.

Go-Ahead received a number of the Bus Éireann LF class, last year for commuter services between Dublin and Co. Kildare etc. These are VDL Futura DDs.

A new operator started last Tuesday - 3rd of March 2020. National Express operating under the Dublin Express in conjunction with Bernard Kavanagh operate routes 781, 782 and 783 between the City Centre and Dublin Airport. Each route operates hourly, 24 hours a day, thereby providing a 20 min frequency between the Airport and Custom House.

Hi. I haven't posted in a while, opportunities to photograph were limited in recent times. Lockdown in Ireland was initially for 2km and then 5km. The latter just about got me into the city centre. I can't complain too much and it has been tough for many, just like over the sea. Buswise, the Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann and Go-Ahead services ran initially to a Saturday service with peak time extras. Most independent services stopped and have not resumed to date. This list includes Aircoach (First) Dublin Express (National Express - started just before the crisis), Citylink (Comfort Delgro) and JJKavanaghs. Buses are now running at 50% capacity and face masks are mandatory.
VT62 Westland Row 13 July 2020 - Note the destination - this message is carried on all DB buses.
VWD432 Eyre Square, Galway 22 July 2020 - Nothing to do with Corona, but Wrights have managed to deliver the last buses to Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann, VWD431 and 432 have recently gone into service in Galway
VWD461 Eyre Square, Galway 22 July 2020 - I do not know why this happened, maybe due to chassis numbers but VVWD461 is from last year and is a year older than 431.
VG36 Eden Quay 18 July 2020 - I said that Dublin Bus was nearly back to normal, however the Tours and Airlink services have been cancelled until further notice. Dublin Bus are using a number of buses as staff facilities for cleaning staff, the buses are strategically positioned around the city. When the buses come in, the cleaners rush out and clean the bus.

No problem, I will try and update things when I get a chance to take photos.
Most 'Independent' (non subsidised) services were cancelled since March, but operators are slowly resuming services including Aircoach, which is run by First.

Schools have started to return, they have been off since mid March. To increase capacity on a number of orbital / edge of city routes, Go-Ahead have taken on 9 ex Dublin Bus AX class buses. New numbers are 11701 to 11709. New S suffix routes have started today to augment existing routes, mostly school time extras. I include a poor shot of 11705 - destination is working, camera can't cope with it!

As a man restricted to a Smartphone, your "poor quality" shot looks like a masterpiece !
Do keep these coming, I'm unlikely to get to Ireland any day soon, and I find your contributions of great interest.

Thanks for the comments. Likewise I am unlikely to be heading eastwards for a while. Was in Scotland and Yorkshire (Leeds, Harrogate, Scarborough and York) in February but this could be the first year that I haven't visited Manchester since 1996!
As for the photos, I shouldn't complain. The Nikon is a decent camera. I spent years with a solid Olympus Trip camera. When I was a poor student in Manchester, I had to limit myself to one roll of pics a week - mix of bus and trains. My pictures from 1997 were more of First Bus than Stagecoach even though I lived off Oxford Road - I wish I had the digital camera back then!
Back to Dublin. A quick trip into the city to chase down some of the AXs (B7TLs) and the mighty VTs - Triaxle B9TLs. However, I also photographed SG9. This bus has escaped my camera for years. Slightly sad story. It was delivered in 2014 - probably in September but it had a serious accident in October and was impounded by the Garda (Police) until last year. It was actually stored in the Garda station just up the road from me, I often saw it but obviously couldn't get in to photo it, anyway got there eventually!
