There seems to be some confusion over whether the trains for Liverpool to Birmingham will be brand new or new to the route but if they are new to the route it raises the question of what's available to cascade that is longer than a 350?
Noted on another forum that there is speculation that Birmingham to Liverpool may get the 707s from South West Trains.

If this is the case, then the 707s need to get a pantograph.
The first two 707s delivered were fitted with pantographs for ac testing. These will be removed when the tests are complete.
Bombardier have been awarded the EMU contract and CAF have been awarded the DMU contract: http://www.railjournal.com/index.php/rol...hannel=529
