Think Crosville registered routes through the Birkenhead Tunnel in the 1930s but not sure if they ever operated, but think there were a few works routes through the Tunnel during World War 2. The only PTE route through the Birkenhead Tunnel was the Night Service later numbered 94/94A, the only Cross River routes in the PTE era was 31/32/418/419, plus the Night service, most of the other services that might have gone to Liverpool went to Woodside or Seacombe connecting with the Ferry.
