Operators based in North East Wales
RE: Operators based in North East Wales

Phillips, Greenfield

The operators licence of this company ceased on 28th October which now sees the end of operations for a company that started in the early 1920's.

Recently the only work undertaken by Director Les Williams was the Deeside Shuttle using Solo YK05CAA which is owned by Flintshire County Council. This vehicle, the work involved and Les is now with P and O Lloyd. The Alero YP52JWO has returned to Flintshire County Council. The only vehicle remaining is the long term withdrawn and 'poorly' Solo YJ05JXW which is understood to be still within the former Phillips garage in Greenfield.

P and O Lloyd, Bagillt

Brand new arrival is BX63BEO a Mercedes Benz Tourismo which is in the operators standard coach livery of cream with gold lettering - photo here

YN07EAJ - the unusual MAN 18.310 / Noge Catalan has left the fleet going in part exchange to EvoBus, Coventry (for the new Tourismo).

Pats Coaches, Southsea

A new arrival is Scania K340EB4 / Irizar Century Style - YN08MPY it is in dealer white livery and is only on loan until March/April 2014 when a new Scania coach is expected to arrive.

LIL8045 (previously YN06JXC) the Scania K114EB4 / Berkhof Axial 50 has now received the Operators standard livery (of white base with red vinyls) from Just Go photo here

Also having the standard white based livery is S888STS Mercedes Benz Atego 1018L / UNVI Cimo (previously SN57EOD) which recently had a silver based livery. photo - here

Whilst having been with the fleet since March 2013 I finally managed to see and photo YN13AWP for the first time. It spends most of its working life abroad with only very occasional visits to the depot for rapid turnaround inspections and maintenance -some of this taking place at night - photo here

George Edwards, Bwlchgwyn

A recent arrival is BJ59OHV a Mercedes Benz Tourismo C49Ft - it was new to Redwing Coaches, Herne Hill (fleet 292) and was used mainly for Cosmos tours - it is now in dealer white - but may get a new livery in due course.

It is also planned that the Bova - WA06GSV which is still in the metallic blue as it arrived may soon receive a new livery.

Townlynx

The second Vario DG53CMY has been sold - it is believed to a dealer / operator in Ireland

Vehicles to be used on the new T1 Greenfield - Holywell - Chester service are receiving rooftop route brandings.

I have a website which looks at the bus and coach operators in North East Wales. There are current fleetlists for all operators and most have a full historic fleet list.
Included are current depot fleet lists for Arriva Cymru. There are also a number of ceased opertators with historic fleet lists including the GHA Group

One of D Jones and Sons contracted School routes is out to tender at the moment with a specified minimum seating capacity of 53 and looking at the fleet list they don't currently have a vehicle that large.
