Arriva North West - Green Lane Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Green Lane Depot
The reason double deckers were removed from Green Lane circa' 2003 was due to the loss of the Saturday X1 service, and the fact Bootle depot required them for the midweek 60 service and rail replacement contract of the Northern Line.

It was NOTHING to do with vandalism

I don't think they would have been orderd if they were to be rejected by drivers & union, It could have been talked about before they were orderd. I could be wrong, just my say.

Hard to say,but the 30 would easily slot in elsewhere in exchange for older single decks,I`m sure Speke would willingly let Green Lane have their Commanders in exchange for them

I would also like to mention at this point that no order has gone through to Alexander Dennis for any vehicle at all. The number of new buses is still being justified as are the type. Green Lane are wanting double deckers, however it depends on whether the cost is justified and their purpose.

30 Enviro 400's can quite easily become 30 "(Standardised order for the replacement of new)" Pular 2's or a half and half order.

The intentional reason for the fairly "large" order of deckers is actually for routes 15 and match-day 26/27. A factor for the investment is the refurbishment and extention of LFC and the Anfield housing area

Well, whatever happens, it's not going to be changed to out-of-production Pulsar 2s!

Let's just say that they mentioned the "up to 30 new double deckers" figure on their Facebook page without being directly asked if there were any due. A user had complained about the old, small buses on the 12/13 and they replied with the plan for deckers. They would hardly make this public if the plan wasn't serious.

I thought the Pulsar is no longer made, but i can understand why the 15 needs them, and the 26/27 on Matchday's.

It isn't available on the current market, I should have said "standardised pulsar replacement product"

That's another factor that Arriva have to face with vehicle standardisation, it's either the enviro 400 (which will be the MMC) or currently the Streetlight, which as of yet isn't well liked in the North West based on the demonstrators.

I would hate Streetlites to enter service here, I would rather have 30 Enviro MMC's or Pulsar's.

Was Olympian 3310 the last decker allocated to Green Lane?
