RE: Arriva North East
The first information about the Durham County registrations has been filtering through... Regarding X1 and X2, both will be operating to revised routes (X1 will go via both ends of Stockton High Street and serve Teesdale via Chapel Street and Station Street, double run to the University, before normal route to Middlesbrough). Evening and Sunday route is as per current, but will operate hourly all year round. The buses will also observe all stops between Coxhoe and Durham. Service X2 will operate to a set route in Newcastle, in via John Dobson Street and Blackett Street and out via Newgate Street, observing extra stops in both directions! It will also include some schooldays and school holiday journeys, presumably when a durham bus will fall out to do some school work somewhere. Extra stop in Birtley is added - not sure where Windsor Road is yet though! Service 21a will operate the same route as X1 between Middlesbrough and Stockton High Street. It will then operate as current route to Peterlee, but will not go via Wynyard Road in Trimdon. Service 21 will do the same as 21a between Sedgefield and Peterlee. Service 31/31a is withdrawn and replaced by presu, ably changes to the 23/24. Service X66 will also operate both ends of Stockton High Street on journeys towards Middlesbrough only. Darlington bound journeys will not change and will loop the south end only. Taking into account these changes, and that I have been told we are using Stands 10 and 6 in Stockton High Street when heading to Middlesbrough on the X1, 21a and X66, I make that 18 departures per hour off each of these two stands, taking into account what Stagecoach and TV/Compass already do!!!! |
