Why are we still getting Marshall Darts? They were ok being in South Yorkshire away from us - really they should have been displaced by the Streetlites, as the B9TLs were instead. On that, was a reason ever given for their transfer out?

om mgmt kept changing plans originally was getting 10 to disp 3 step deckers and 7 marshall sheds,
that then became 14 then 17 because qs were taking over the 41 so needed extra buses so wanted the b9s back and om wanted to get some more newer buses to disp the old solos ,
now they want 5 solos from us for 415s as "the 54 plate are ideal for the low bridge at chadderton"
which basically takes the mic out of what the ex coo jerome weiner (or whatever he was called) said was going to happen when the b9s were introduced
as were now back to x reg sheds 54plate solos couple of deckers and a load of 14 plate streetlites which diplaced the decent buses we already had.
all in all blame the clever ****s at om

Its hard to say whether its a good or bad thing, Pioneer has a nice batch of decent brand new vehicles but in the process is loosing some of their slightly older decent stock, some would say its robbing peter to pay paul Smile

Ive noticed a few B9's still lurking about in Ashton, they mainly pop up on 348's and 350's and the evening 231 is always a B9 but how many are actually still at Dukinfield and are these staying or going?

I also noticed yesterday that the Arrow is still alive and kicking despite reports it had been scraped.

there is 6 b9 left the arrow(929) 40403 and 34088/9 are all still alive and kicking saw 3 of the 4 yesterday only missing one of the 2 olys but both have been out this week.
the 231 spec is a b9 decker as part of the tender so 90% of time has to be this although the driver has it in the afternoon has his dinner if its a streetlight hes meant to change it at break but there are sometimes when the deckers arent back yet so has run as a streetlight

"because qs were taking over the 41"

I know that QS are / were operating some B9TL's on the 41 but I didn't realise that the route 41 Streetlites are now based at QS. Which of the original 63096 - 63118 batch have now gone over to QS?

RE: First Manchester
Anybody got any idea or wants to hazard a guess at how long 40416 P510 LND had got left in her getting close to 18 years continuous service after her whole life at only Oldham Depot?
