Obviously First won't send new buses to Wigan but younger buses would need to be sourced to maintain a fleet of vehicles that are below the 15 year limit for GM tenders. If they are wanting to sell the depot, it would provide an ideal stop-gap measure until a new owner takes over, pushing the need to spend money onto any new owner.

The Citaros would be replaced by new vehicles or cascades as part of the current fleet renewal programme. It would also assist with vehicle standardisation.

I see your thought and your not starting any rumors but what you say is all true, Wigans current fleet is the oldest of first Manchester, and in all of what you have said above is logical.

are you sure of that if so dukinfield cant be far behind can it

60155 R5LCB is another gonner!!! :O

Also, a friend has seen and photo'd (can't be shown as it isn't uploaded online) of a B7RLE in the new First livery near the Bryn depot, however it doesn't appear to have any fleet numbers, and the registration isn't clear at all in the picture, so which one it is is a mystery! I'm guessing that it's maybe 66931. I haven't seen that one for ages! Smile

RE: First Manchester
60218 is Based at Bury for the forseable future recently operated 524 and 510 routes

37296 is on Road without stickers and correct logos, due to the fact that they haven't arrived yet.

Also 37297 with the overall advert for buses are the future, is off the road again, reported last week driven from Bolton Moor Lane by a mechanic last week. And has currently spent the last week in the workshop at Bury

12017 is reported to being road ready in its new livery either Saturday or Monday

Ah yeah lol! Big Grin Hopefully some of Bryn's 'actual' buses will get repainted into the new livery, none have been done at all yet as far as I know! 66925 appears to have had a repaint into the 'older-style' First livery though after being involved in an accident! :P

RE: First Manchester
I would have thought its not if but when, that some of bryn's buses will be reapinted Eg B9TLEs B7RLEs etc.

The rule with the livery is, nothing else from now on, will be painted into barbie livery unless MOT'S Accidents etc. In the first instance it will be the new livery.

Just Pioneer, bryn and Queens Road now, it does seem First have set targets ideally wanting 13 buses per week painted, the official sources who make postes elsewhere in other groups. Don't think thats do able. With only limited painters

explains why the BY bendis have been sent to Blackburn to be painted.

A very reliable source tells that First are looking to make changes to the allocations for the 135 and 471, in other words. Currently deciding wheather to switch the entire scania omni city fleet 12001/18 to the 471 full time. The reason being to free up the city centre. 10017 is most likely going to be painted up and maybe 135 maybe 471?. At the moment though said bus has been sat idle in Bury Depot for a few days.

I would assume, that If first at Bury decide to switch allocations, then its most likely B9s will be the regular allocation/normal sightings on this.

Arrow 31920 was withdrawn from service yesterday (9/8/12) due to it having problems with starting up in Bolton Bus Stn. Replaced by a B7RLE with a route 56 "MCR Gen Hosp".
Also spotted B9TL 37296 in new livery yet to receive any Vinyls & a UID B7RLE fresh out of the paintshop going to Bryn Garage also with no vinyls or fleet numbers.
