Seems that because the because the Hunts Cross has to present itself correctly at Liverpool South Parkway any delay results in a skip stop service anywhere on the Southport - Hunts Cross line , maybe its time that Hunts Cross line service was provided off a much shorter line.

Back in the 1980s the Hunts Cross service ran between Kirkby and Hunts Cross and before 1983 it ran Kirkby-Garston before the Garston-Hunts Cross section was electrified so probably would be the best solution to return to this arrangement.

RE: Merseyrail
Too many of the services on the Southport line are skipping stops out to maintain the timetable , this is with a considerable turnaround time for some journeys at Southport .

Think there is some significant infrastructure problems associated with the level crossings on this line that can build delays.

RE: Merseyrail
Further to the message about the new Wirral line timetable , the service on the Chester / Ellesmere port will now be staying on the revised , even though the new timetables produced by Merseytravel have been published with the original timetable in them.

RMT have called another strike for Friday 22nd December. So if anyone's got a work Christmas party planned you might find it difficult getting home!

On my journey to Rock Ferry from Wallasey Grove Road this evening I saw a notice up on the windows at Wallasey Village stating that the industrial action on both Merseyrail and Arriva will go ahead as planned.

RE: Merseyrail
Trains on the Ormskirk line terminating and starting at Aintree from 8pm on the 13th December, buses Aintree-Ormskirk-Aintree.This is due to the power related problems that have meant only 3 cars can operate beyond Maghull since last weekend. The aforementioned is to give more time for the fault to be fixed.

Additionally the Merseyrail strike on the 22nd December won't coincidence with an Arriva bus strike as the pay deal has been accepted on Arriva buses so all strikes are called off
