RE: Merseyside Transport Trust
I agree 1449 and 1551 both looked great yesterday - and it was particularly impressive as they both roared away from the Pier together at the end of the day. Thanks MTT. And the services were well loaded - obviously the 'fare' helped but it was well marketed as well. There's a certain irony in seeing 1449 with a full load on the 25 only 9 months after withdrawal, particularly when 1551 is 10 minutes behind running as a dupe.

Arriva just didnt want to do the Open Top Tour any more that was abundantly clear over the last few years , keeping the Open Top Tours as a well kept secret from all but the most ardent supporters .

At least these vehicles proved there is a market still there if it is marketed correctly and the weather plays ball.

Even if the weather doesn't play ball there will always be plenty of people around who will be enticed by the allure of an old bus... Especially as we'll be using a closed top alternative (East Lancs Atlantean 1836), should the weather be too poor. But hopefully, the weather will continue to be kind to us Smile

Not yet, but it is progressing well. The owner is hoping to give it a test run in the next few weeks before putting it back in the bus.
