The way the 34/34A timetable works is that unless there's a swap, the same bus is in Leigh every hours, so quite correctly 2489 was the 1420 and 1720 from Leigh. On weekdays the 1700 from Leigh changes onto the 156 in St Helens and 1825 from Leigh continues onto the evening 34 service at 1925 from St Helens. Hope this helps!
