If it's just a simple loan due to bus shortages then why specify double deckers when there are no other double decks at St Helens?

School holidays so extra capacity will be needed, that is likely to the reason for deckers.

It's never been the case before though despite deckers actually being needed.

These VLWs will surely be long-term loans until the new deckers arrive. Given that they've withdrawn a host of Darts just lately, St Helens will need replacement buses.

St Helens have had the extra capacity in the last 12 months with 4206/4207, so maybe somebody realised it was what was lacking given the fact it's half term and then there is the busy run up to Christmad.

As long as they get used on the correct routes that need the capacity and not throw on any old route .

St helens have a different manager who as different ideas and thoughts than previous managers and thats how a buisness progresses as no good sitting on the fence and not willing to move the buisness forward so i think times are changing in st helens and deckers are a good move forward.

My point is, surely they must be more than just a quick loan to cover a shortage. If they were desperately short they'd take whatever they could (probably more Darts) but to be short and request two double deckers?

The long term loan until Enviro400s arrive and at the same time being replacements for withdrawn Darts seems more logical.
