Thanks for that .It appears that 12247 to 12257 have or will be going with 12108/9 and 12054 according to todays news from Steven Knight media. The last sentence is interesting:-

''Other Enviro 400s reallocated are 19328 and 19493 from Stockport to Wigan and 19365/90/91/93-97 from Hyde Road to Sharston.''

So are Sharston overall gaining 8 buses from Hyde Rd?

Ashton depot did have a cleaner that would bored the bus as it entered the bus station and remove all papers and rubbish, often filling a clear bin liner on every bus. I remember seeing a similar cleaner on the 192 stand in town.
Same is said for Metrolink. 2 permanent cleaners bored every tram at Ashton and clean it thoroughly before it leaves. A large transit van rocks up every evening and is literally filled right up with the bags of rubbish removed. It's shocking how much waste just gets dumped on public transport.

It's funny how i've been in Sydney since may and although it's a dump of a city i havn't noticed one newspaper or magazine left on a bus yet but the standard of bus here is poor in comparison to Manchester/Wigan so no where is perfect.

Sydney a ''dump of a city''-you are kidding. The buses may be no great shakes, but the place certainly is.

How come wigan are losing the single decks, does that mean the Enviro300s are going to another depot.

Encountered one of the new version ticket machines on a TfGM-branded Solo bus on the 425 last night (2 February).

Metrolink obviously has money to burn and as variable costs (ie. Labour) is a much smaller proportion with Rail than it is with Bus, it hardly costs much to employ a few cleaners.

He seemed to go for buses on layover, often attacking 216/219/330's while drivers changed over but it was always quite interesting seeing him getting into tussels with oaps who didn't like the fact he was taking ALL the metros off the bus lol.

Isn't it a tfgm solo that they're using to run the 96 from shudehill up to simister? Little silver & green solo that's slightly scruffy but still merrily scuttling about the place.

Also seen mr noisy again this week, 19528. Were the enviro 400s always this loud or is it due to them getting slightly worn now as their ageing? Made a right racket when it passed me the other day but sounded quite good though.

One of the Ex 34/X34 branded E400MMCs was on the 540 earlier. Couldn't catch the fleet number though

Versa 25343 runs the 96's most of the time and rarely ventures onto anything else while Solos 48802/3 run the 173s daytime and then usually do the 340/425s at night. Each TFGM bus has to go to Optare every 6 weeks for an inspection and then head over there for MOT and any breakdown work as well, when Diesel's then cover.
