Was an Enviro400 on the X34 all day again today too.
Anyone know when stagecoach can start amending the services in wigan , i know there was a deal with First that they could not change anything for a certain amount of time ?

I think the Enviro400's are standing in for the Geminis while they get repainted. Once they're done they will return to their depots. In the summer the ex London tridents are moving from Stockport to Wigan, heralding the exit of the Geminis to East Midlands.

Correct although given the wait for a decision from the OFT, changes Stagecoach may have been planning will obviously be slightly delayed (the 3 month period by my calculation expires this weekend as the takeover occurred on 2nd December).

I honestly don't see the tridents getting out of Stockport. We always end up with the crappier portion of the good stuff.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
I would be surprised if the Tridents replace the Geminis. Stagecoach aren't known for going backwards in age terms...

I would expect the Tridents will replace the Arrows and Olympians.

Although what if the rumour of having no double decker buses before 2007 in Manchester is true? This rumour was from a while a go but who knows?

Yes it is true. And from 2023 onwards that will be the case...

Yup :L it's 16 years under TfGM conditions, although from that rumour (again) it said next year seems like a bunch of BS but it could be true, we never know.

If there were to be no buses in Manchester older than 2007, what would happen to the Magic Routes? I can't see 70 five year old buses suddenly being painted blue somehow. The Wigan fleet would then have to be turned upside down. Yes, there's been some new buses recently but there's still around 80 or so older than 2007. It may be possible that all Enviro400's will be 07 reg or newer, with a lot of older Enviro400's due for cascade soon, but as for the older end of the fleet, I think it may be some years yet before we see 100% 2007 or newer, unless of course the Green Bus Fund gives Manchester enough funds to buy around 150 or more new hybrids, which is slightly ambitious to put it mildly LOL
