Greater Manchester Service Changes

Would imagine it'll be a standalone route, numbered 395 perhaps to fit in with the 396. Or perhaps resurrect the old 424 or 428 numbers for the old routes in the 1990s.

However, I wouldn't be surprised, particularly after the 217 extension to run between Ashton and Wythenshawe Hospital, that we see the 151 extended to Ashton. Covers part of the old 396 route between Newton Heath and Failsworth and the service currently terminates at Tesco in Failsworth. Could see TfGM re-routing the service in Failsworth then run it along the old 396 route to Ashton Road/Hathershaw Lane (Park Cakes), then straight down to Ashton.
like I posted only 3 bus stops no longer have a bus so it unlikely they will replace the route and they can`t reroute the 151 as then the 151 passengers would then lose there bus. anyone wanting Ashton can get 76 then 396 or 409

Due to a campaign led by Failsworth councillors TFGM WILL be subsidising a service between Ashton and Failsworth following a similar route to that of the 396, however it is likely to be at the next service change date.

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
Considering TfGM dont do and don't like short notice service changes any changes now to 396 will probably not now take place until some time next year unless there's another service change date coming up this year that I've missed.

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
They gave the reason for the gap in the new service starting being the legal process of giving 60 days notice to register, cancel or change a service.
Think it would be more worthwhile to drop the 387 to 2 hourly (given its not had any promotion and nobody knows its back) and use the second bus/driver on the new Failsworth -Ashton service.

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
For a Replacement for 396 maybe Stagecoach will be asked to route a 76 along the 396 route from Hollins lane to Newton heath

From the wording a new service will be registered.

Well, no rubber stamp has happened they are going to look at ways to replace am sure. . as they will have to find funding by removing other service.

They have the funding. They have axed the 41 and the 419 so there’s funding there. They have just reinstated the 387 because they have spare money to spend so the money is there. Don’t forget these services are being axed due to low passenger numbers not withdrawal of funding!

Well maybe as it low numbers they need to look at the route and think maybe time to look at maybe running a route from NMH to Newton heath then cover the old route to Hollin lane then cutting into Lineside and running along coal pit lane to ashton road then turn off at Wilshaw Lane / broadoak road into Tameside hospital then Ashton.
