TfW Rail services running via Mid-Cheshire hasn't been ruled out long term, even if it's been dismissed as a December 2022 option. Either way they will need to ensure 197s are cleared for Mid-Cheshire to allow for diversions and it will probably be easier to get paths for training runs on Mid-Cheshire, than on Chat Moss.

From your video it does look like the train stopped at Altrincham on the training run, which is perhaps more surprising than the training run being conducted via Altrincham.

The class 230 will allow the class 150 to be cascaded.
