In the North West are also only supposed to be used on Hope Valley and Blackburn/Clitheroe services but the permitted routes is a 'gentleman's agreement' with TfN, rather than a legal requirement. The non-PRM compliant Sprinters and 144s can continue to be used in single formation for the short term, although there are restrictions about which lines single 144s and 153s can be used on. |
