Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
4156 is in the new livery, its 4026/4027/4031 & 3615 that still wear old colours with the white around the front ends rather than turquoise.

4026 seems to have spent most of this week on the 31a/37 circuit & is doing well, bit slow off the mark but once it gets going manages pretty well.

ALL DLAs are slow off the mark!

Once they're going, they're ok. The problem is GETTING THEM GOING!Laugh

I guess it was probably 4026 I saw then must have misread the licence plate as I passed at speed.

Quite an easy mistake to be honest- S266 JUA (4026), S286 JUA (4156), so if your in a car, that's quite easily mistaken!

Aye the DLAs accelerate like a ruddy snail!!! That been said 4042 & dare I say this? 4143 actually seems to have improved no end with speed & the reliability sorted now.

Any ideas folks how long till the ex southport volvo 400s are with us. It'll kinda be a sad day when 4042 heads off for open top conversion as its the first ex london DLA I had when they first arrived oop north.

As Southport's new Enviro400s are due in September I reckon the ALX400s will come to Winsford around October. In the name of standardisation I hope the Volvo B7TL-Geminis leave Winsford to join others at Birkenhead or Bootle.

It would make some form of sense to do that , only problem is do Arriva work like that , it would allow the depot workers to know the ins and outs of a particular bus type .

Generally speaking arriva NW have a variety of vehicles at all their garages. We've always had mix of stuff & our fitters know the VLWs well by now.

How the hell outhouse fitters have managed to stay sane with all the probs DLAs have given us is beyond me!!!
