Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
When you say replaced by the Optares at Macclesfield, I assume you mean a new batch. There's always the possibility of similar sized Darts cascading from London as well.

On the issue of Optare turning circles... It's particularly poor on the SRs considering their size. It's been noted on the St Helens batch too; they turn no better, if not worse, than the Pulsars do on the likes of the Gillars Green estate on 35/As.

The Macclesfield Solo SR's are branded for Macclesfield so youd have to remove the branding if you wanted to move them all elsewhere

http://busncoachfleetlists.comli.com/ The new fleetlist site containing lots of new things

Currently the Macclesfield photographer for anything Arriva Macclesfield and Winsford, Arriva Wythenshawe, High Peaks, Aimees, Holmeswood, GHA and anything else I photograph

D'oh big mistake on my part there, I meant to say the remaining winsford darts will probably be replaced by another batch of solos. Although the batch macc have got 701-708 would the optares be suitable for the longer distance runs that winsford have i.e the 29/31/37?

Its rare you'd get a dart on any of the above but it does happen time to time, also bit of a gripe on my part but does anyone else think that winsford have some unpleasant/grumpy drivers??? There's a few I can think of, fair play quite a lot of them have been driving buses 15+ years but still no excuse for being generally unplesant & blunt at times with passengers.

Winsford have considered replacing the centro's with deckers because of the loadings on the 29/31/37.

Was nice to have the chance to finally ride DAF DB250/NC Palatine II V715 LWT (3615) on the 84 yesterday, what a difference the ZF 5HP500 5 speed ZF gearbox made compared to the Voith D854.3 3 speed box in the likes of the older DLA's. For me it was an ideal allocation for such a route. Here's a picture after we had arrived in Chester for anyone interested, http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomasharri...87818953/.

This DAF seems unusual on route 84. As a side note, this pic illustrates how the refurbished Chester bus station with Stagecoach as successors to First looks like.

Chester races were also on so the 84 was entirely operated by DAF DB250's (former DLA's & DBS15) and VDL SB300's.
I've uploaded a video of 3615 on my return trip home that evening if anyone is interested: http://youtu.be/PuakJsrd4LI
