They are the unique MAN-engined Enviros, and despite the lack of the back offside lower deck seat, they seem to be better than the normal ones. I also prefer them to other Enviro400s here. It has not been refurbished and still has yellow grabrails and Go-Ahead London 2000-06 moquette. On Monday or Tuesday this week (sorry I forget which evening) the 20.55 42 from Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly was elderly Trident 17202. This morning I felt as though normal service had been resumed, as the 8.32 197 Manchester Albert Square - Stockport was a Trident again! This time 18110. |

More oddities at AZ with 36075 working on services there. It's currently in Glossop about up work a 202 to Hyde. Is this a loan or a permanent move? I'm assuming it's the latter as AZ arnt exactly short of mini/midi's suitable for the 202. |

They also appear to be awaiting more Enviro400s as replacements for those transferring to MagicBus, as 19168/77/87 have already at Sharston, and I gather at least 4 are in the paintshop or are already withdrawn waiting their turn - albeit the loan of MAN engined examples will partially help I havevt seen the latest fleetcard but I assume AZ still has a couple of Solos? |

One might even now be favoured for the 345, as, surprise, surprise, the route round Circular Road is going back to its proper clockwise route from April. I assume this is due to skirt damage incurred by MANs (and even Enviro200s?) turning right into Town Lane.....as I warned it would do! If 36075 is a permanent move it's going to be limited where it can be used during the week. Obviously there's the 345/6 and 342/4 but if there really short it's no going to work well on a 347 or a 231, where as the conventional Enviro200's could just about be turned out on anything. This was the problem with the ex Bluebird MPD that was at AZ late last year. It was restricted on what it could be used on. |

My first ride of the type (10466) it cut out about four times between Picc and Reddish Bridge (about a third of the total number of times we stopped). A second one which number escapes me, it cut out at every stop. The last time was 10471 on Wednesday evening peak, which didn't cut out once, and did Undercroft to Bulls Head in a remarkable 18 minutes. The following morning, with the usual horrendous delays affecting mid morning 203s, 10471 breezed into Stockport 4 workings (but only 27 minutes) behind my journey. I suspect this "stop/start technology" will be a further cause of delays, so hopefully someone has permanently short-circuited it on 10471 (lol). 10471 is on the X57 today. I was on it down to Parrs Wood.Didn't cut out once and was very nippy. |
