Wrong. It is 319013. The other three are 319216 319429 and 319460.

I have read that many different reports about which 319s are going where it's easy enough to get confused. However you initially said 313013 (which doesn't even exist) which was incorrect - I was only telling SLT that London Midland aren't getting any 313s

I make that a hotpotch of sub classes .

One 319/0 , One 319/2 and Two 319/4 . Is there any significant difference between the sub classes .

The 319/0s have a mixture of 2+2 and 2+3 seating (as well as eight longitudinal seats) whilst the 319/2s which were converted for the London Victoria to Brighton express service have a mixture of 2+1 (first) and 2+2 and 2+3 (standard) seating with the 2+2 facing seats having tables. The 319/4s also have the same mixture of seating as the 319/2s but the 2+2 facing seats don't have tables. The 319/4s also have four longitudinal tip-up seats in a designated area for passengers who are wheelchair users

Sounds like each had there own niche market they was used in.

I remember being puzzled by the mix of 2+2 and 2+3 seating when I lived in Harpenden and used Thameslink very briefly a few years back.

Does anyone know the thinking behind this?

The Class 319/2s were refurbished for the London Victoria to Brighton express service and the 319/4s were refurbished for the Bedford to Brighton service. Not sure about the 319/0s

319001-13 used to operate the Southern service from Brighton to Rugby (these days West Croydon to Milton Keynes Central) service.
319361-86 (formerly 319161-86) were built for the Luton to Sutton service.
