Well I was on 60245 yesterday it's had its DDA mods done but hasn't been painted

BN are doing 53147 as this weeks repaint

No other citaros yet but there is always next week

First Manchester will be running a special service to take people towards Hebden Bridge for the Tour de France next Sunday (6 July).

The service, numbered X1, will run from Piccadilly Gardens (stand D) before calling at Shudehill, Middleton bus station and Rochdale Interchange before running non-stop to Mytholm turning circle, just outside Hebden Bridge.

Buses will run from Manchester at 0700, 0730, 0800 and 0830 with buses departing Rochdale 5 mins after First West Yorkshire's 590 to Mytholm via Todmorden.

Buses on service X1 will leave Mytholm at 1415, 1430, 1500 and 1530, with the latter three running a few mins behind the 590 to Rochdale.

No mention on the First website, but the timetable can be seen on the Traveline Yorkshire/Metro Journey Planner:

Heres a question its a bit random but why don't buses have an ignition key like coaches do? For example Volvo B10M coaches have an ignition key like a car, but most buses excluding varios, have a button or a knob, like the 10-reg+ Enviro's have two buttons which must be pressed to start the engine

SN12 AMV - 33733 appeared to have went into a bus stop outside Bolton station earlier today, one of the mirrors was bent back and the bus stop was smashed. I took a picture which can be seen here:

Some buses have ignition keys, certainly Scanias did until fairly recently at least (I haven't been in one newer than an 08) but Scanias share much of their dash with the truck range. Also Dennis Lances had keys, as I recall, and there were some others that I can't remember. All were very awkward to remove, but they were there. However a master switch and start and stop buttons have always been prevalent.

The problem with using keys in a vehicle which has countless not-so-careful drivers is that they get lost or snapped off in the barrel (both big and expensive problems) - and, of course, nobody ever knows how it's happened!

That contrasts with coaches, which are often run by smaller companies or have the same driver, or few drivers, regularly, meaning they take more care as they often consider the vehicle 'theirs'. Additionally keys are required on coaches for locking them when they're parked up, which isn't an issue with buses.

I'm on first Scanias they have a yellow key but maybe they are left in for the reasons you said or they maybe welded into the barrel.
