The re-livery process is back underway with another unit being stripped of its old livery at Birkenhead North as of now.

RE: Merseyrail
Bad incident this morning by Birkenhead North. Apparently a large piece of metal was thrown onto the track causing chaos. Also 507020 has been badly tagged.

RE: Merseyrail
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not (etc...) but 507020 (if I remember correctly) has been badly-vandalised (all three carriages on one, or even both, sides are covered in grafitti).

This could be the unit that was out on a Chester diagram yesterday , this time for a long while i have actually seen a unit with so much graffiti on it .

RE: Merseyrail
508136 is on the West Kirby line today still in the old livery, while through the glass at Birkenhead North appears to be one fully re-liveried unit and one just starting.

Chaos on the New Brighton and West Kirby lines this afternoon as well and, in terms of communication, not handled particularly well at all.

RE: Merseyrail
Couldn't disagree with what you say about poor communication. Merseyrail control have been consistently poor at informing passengers in disruption recently. I only found out what was going on by looking on Real Train Times website...

RE: Merseyrail
There was a problem on the line between Hamilton Square and James Street , this affected all destinations on the Wirral.

These days there quick to go to damage limitation by implementing turnbacks at Birkenhead Central and Birkenhead North to keep the rest of the network ticking as best as possible , unfortunately buses can not be obtained at the drop of a hat , though usually Birkenhead North being closer to Laird Street will get buses first if they can be obtained.

RE: Merseyrail
I thought the point of the small LS RR fleet was that Arriva was obliged to provide a limited number of buses at the drop of a hat. Having said that, now the DLAs have gone which are the RR designated vehicles?
