The Ex MTL Marshall Darts 7601-7676
Thought it would be prudent to set a thread up to discuss the withdrawal of the final buses purchased by MTL as their demise from service is imminent.
I have included 7601-7611 as information about their futures after Stagecoach is vague.

Please feel free to note withdrawals, sales and scrap here.

RE: The Ex MTL Marshall Darts 7601-7676
It would be an idea to bump this thread up and back into the general view of the forum, partly because it bares significance to 7601-11 which have otherwise been forgotten about since they have left Merseyside. And as B10B6514 quite rightly outlines, those examples with Arriva are approaching their final moments in service.

After doing a quick of tooting around on the web, the following can be established in terms of the T-JBA's. Any help from those associated with Stagecoach North West in regards to the disposal of the examples which ended up in Cumbria, or even if any remain on fleet strength/reserve will be most welcome:

7601 - A Line of Gateshead, Feb 2013
7602 - Last reported at Ensign, December 2010
7603 - ???
7604 - Glamorgan Bus of Aberdare, Feb 2013
7605 - Reportedly sold to Wigley, Carlton. Re-sale or scrap?
7606 - Owens Coaches of Oswestry, July 2012
7607 - Lloyds Coaches of Machynlleth ALONG WITH ANOTHER UNCONFIRMED FULL-SIZED EXAMPLE, March 2012 (For use, or spares)
7608 - Reportedly sold to Wigley, Carlton. Re-sale or scrap?
7609 - Stagecoach North West 33171 Morecambe depot, DISPOSAL
7610 - Stagecoach North West 33172 Morecambe depot, DISPOSAL
7611 - Stagecoach North West 33173 Lillyhall depot, DISPOSAL

Those withdrawn/long term VOR with Arriva comprise:
7612 - Wrexham, storage for scrap.
7613 - Green Lane, heavily cannibalised for scrap.
7614 - Wrexham, storage for scrap.
7616 - Green Lane, cannibalised for scrap.
7620 - St Helens, withdrawn.
7622 - St Helens, cannibalised for scrap.
7624 - Green Lane, gearbox failure.
7635 - Birkenhead, withdrawn/unallocated
7642 - Wrexham, withdrawn in store.
7674 - Bootle, fire damage.

Finally, and far more extensively, those remaining on fleet strength and in active service as collaborated from the newly updated fleet lists on this site comprise:
7615 - Wythenshawe
7617 - Wythenshawe
7618 - Green Lane

RE: The Ex MTL Marshall Darts 7601-7676
Thanks very much for that list mate, wasn't aware of 7624 biting the dust. Awful vehicle in every department which is only fit for Barnsley. Can't see 7615, 7617, 7618 and 7619 sticking around for much longer either with the ex Runcorn Pulsarsand ex Bolton DAFs entering service at Wythenshawe and Green Lane.

Justice is finally here. Rest In Peace the 96, You'll Never Walk Alone.

The only Marshall I happily rode on the evening/Sunday 356s in lieu of a Pulsar! Cracking bus.

RE: The Ex MTL Marshall Darts 7601-7676
I am pleased that most are still in service, despite the rumour that the rest are due for withdrawal this year. While I have found it handy riding them closer to home, such as in Bolton in November, I wish they could have stayed in Merseyside, even if also Bootle, just to retain some MTL heritage as it were.

7608 was scrapped after suffering major engine failure in 2011 while in service at Kendal. The 3 listed on Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancs disposal are all waiting to be collected by Wigleys.

Many thanks for your update cumbria0902150, much appreciated. Do you know if 7609-11 face the same fate as 7608? Plus, 7605 was said to have made the same journey, presumably for scrap rather than re-sale?

Further Marshalls noted as withdrawn are 7628, 7632 and 7676.
With the recent influx of 54 brand new hybrid and gas buses and the extra Pulsars for GL, will this start to have an effect with withdrawals of Marshalls accelerating?
It has been suggested the the new Pulsars will eradicate GLs allocation of Marshalls.
