The company has opened another depot near their new depot in Aintree for withdrawn buses - when I had a look in there, it appeared that all of their S-KNL Optare Solo M850s were there and well-and-truly withdrawn. I think that, among the many Solos in there, one Optare Alero was there. There's a yard near their Southport depot which is full of withdrawn Optare Aleros, too. In their Southport depot is many ELC Myllenniums, along with a small fleet of service buses - hybrid Solo YJ12 GXK was in there about a month ago, along with two smaller MX55-plated Solos. Finally, their Birkenhead depot is open but I don't know about what's in there - apart from the "baby Solos" (MX08-plated ones) and Optare Alero YP52 JWL (and their two new "vans"...). I hope that this is of help to you! Meanwhile, tatty-looking and awful-sounding hybrid Solo YJ12 GXD is on the 57C/58C/144/145 today. View my new Flickr Updated! |

I've seen it on "normal" services a lot. (28/12/2012 22:41)Scania1996 Wrote: MX09 MJK "Fylde Villager" branded Solo was on the 139 today. There's nothing unusual about that regular allocation! RE: Cumfybus
Funny enough I too haven't seen GXD on the city link routes for a while, maybe it might be something to do with the image the bus sets , specially when your fair share of passengers maybe tourist or office workers , it would make sense to use a bus which at least looks in good state, at the end of the day though all GXD needs is a lick of paint on the damaged area though as my mate who drives for Cumfy today mentioned that they are under warranty , they most likely can't do anything about it Been hating Urban 90's since 2001 |

Just because it's branded for a service (or three), it doesn't mean that it won't go off of those services. And I didn't exactly say that you called it unusual - I was just hinting that it wasn't unusual (and hardly newsworthy).(28/12/2012 23:27)3111 Wrote:If you say so. RE: Cumfybus
The branded buses come down from the Blackpool Depot for maintenance as they only have limited facillities. |
