Could well have happened during overnight stabling at New Brighton or West Kirby. These two places seem to be where the graffiti attacks take place nowadays. I suppose it is feasible the troublemakers could have accessed the track and spraypainted 507012 where it is now. While we're on the subject, 507005 has a small amount of the stuff on its centre car and has been going around like this for a good three-four weeks now.

i hate seeing trains graffitied its reminds me of the New york subway in the 1980's . What kicks do they get from doing it ? |

terrible but it would have been good if the trains had anti graffiti stickers over the M's did they do it over one of it's M's |

This year Network rail seems to be doing something different with the RHTT on the Merseyrail network because recently there has been a spate of late running associated with the evening peak hour , its been exceptionally bad on the Northern lines between Formby and Cressington and on the Wirral Lines between Bebington and Bache . |

I agree with your point though, or alternatively make a habit of replacing the 'M's that are lost following graffiti attacks. They can do it, as proved when 507023 was selected to be named after Stuart Mason. Make a start with 508110 which is currently in for overhaul I believe and certainly one of the scruffiest units on the network at present.

Exceptional Railhead Conditions in the known areas, last year was brilliant adhesion/leaf fall wise, hardly noticeable before but this year it's quite bad. I don't think it's Network Rail doing anything different, the lines are being treated by the RHTT as usual, but all it takes is a light shower/drizzle, high winds and you have poor railhead conditions. |

I also wonder whether they are treating the lines in a different order to last year , the delay attributed to ERC seems to be the highest its been for a couple of years , there will probably after the leaf fall season this year be a lessons learned conference between all involved in the RHTT programme. |

Last year they were discussing axing the MPV and using something a bit more powerful after quite a few failures at Leeds Street bank and around Hamilton Square. Come the proper Winter, I suspect we'll see the same disruption. Incidentally, Class 97s have been appearing at Bidston lately. Generally, over the GB Rail Network, there is a serious increase in ERC, most code red. A colleague spoken with a driver who had a Cat A SPAD, despite OTDR showing he had commenced braking and sanding over 1.5miles earlier on a 70mph line, yet still slid through the junction signal. |
