How accurate is the VOSA Bus Registration Search on their website?

I ask as I have seen a good number of registrations which it says are still registered yet the operator has not operated the route for many years and the relevant N&P states no end date for them to stop operating the service.

So either the website is not accurate, or the operators are not running services they should be.

A lot of these would be short term registrations that are only applicable on certain dates. Ideally, operators should still cancel them as they would remain open... First did this a few months back when they cancelled some of the old Barton Air Show services, which hadn't run for something like 10 years!
