RE: Merseyrail
Why dont they put it on West Kirby 6 car like they did when 508143 returned? Is it done well in advance ie- could you tell me what units are going to run tommorow AM and PM or is it a last minute decision?

Could be a number of reasons for that - even some sort of launch perhaps. They certainly don't always allocate returning units to the West Kirby AM 6 car.

It would be impossible to know every allocation in advance of start of service, especially those that start at Kirkdale or Birkenhead North. You can be pretty sure of some, e.g. the first two New Brighton workings are almost always the last two of the previous day.

RE: Merseyrail
Service suspended on Merseyrail between Rock Ferry and Chester, and between Rock Ferry and Ellesmere Port due to flooding at Hooton. A very limited replacement bus service is running between Rock Ferry and Hooton. Customers are advised to make alternate travel arrangements from Hooton. Merseyrail expect disruption to continue into Tuesday.

I think they eventually fixed the problem at St Michaels, did they not? Seem to remember reading in one of the local papers that measures were taken to reduce the likelihood of it recurring in future.

Considered having a look for 002 this afternoon but the weather put me off. It's grim out there.

If I remember right thare was a drain that was broken @ St Micks that was causing all sorts of problems. Since this drain was fixed there has been hardly any problems with flooding there.
