RE: Merseyrail
Any news on when 508140 will be taken away to Newport for scrap?
Presumably it will be going via rail from Birkenhead North depot, where it is currently based?

RE: Merseyrail
Timetable changes on the Southport, Chester and Ellesmere Port lines from Monday 3rd October, to ensure reliability during leaf-fall season.
An extra unit being added to the Chester circuit to increase turnaround time at Chester.
Chester trains still look not be calling at Green Lane or Bromborough Rake.
Withdrawal of the morning and evening peak extras on the Chester/Ellesmere Port line - a reflection of the shrinking fleet size and an additional 3 car unit being needed on the Chester line.
Looks as though the same number of units will run on the Southport-Hunts Cross diagrams.

Doesnt the Southport line have an already healthy turn around time under normal circumstances at Southport , the extra minutes in the leaf fall timetable will just eat into that , the only problem will be if the units need to step up for a failure .

You just hope that between now and the first 777 comes along that nothing major happens to the fleet.

It will, yes.
It is now scheduled to be moved next Monday, problems with Sunday engineering works and pathing.

The majority of changes are on the Wirral.
The only change on the northern line is extra time on the Southport services (the 3 and 6 cars have not been altered)

RE: Merseyrail
The “short range” battery 777s will be numbered 777001 - 039/41/43/45/47/49/51/53.
The long range ones for Headbolt Lane will be 777140/42/44/46/48/50/52
I guess if in future more long range units are needed, they’ll be converted and renumbered from 7770xx to 7771xx

RE: Merseyrail
The other possibility is that they might be fitted with the modifications to make them long range from the get go which would suggest they will just be numbered in the 7771xx range when each unit is completed
