Im assuming all vehicles will be in TfGM spec then?

And the depots maybe not be the current as you would think open plan depots would make sense so they can fit charging points for buses. Don't think placed like mumps and Hyde road would be able to fit them in

Of course they won’t use the current depots. Why not increase the cost, it’s not their money they will be wasting only the local taxpayers! It does grow on trees after all!

Service 88 will have minor timetable changes at peak times.
Service 89 will be reduced on weekday afternoons.

88 'minor changes' sees a morning peak departure from Altrincham being re-timed to depart 25 minutes later meaning it arrives in Wilmslow after 9am, instead of before 9am. As this is the Greater Manchester thread the other changes probably aren't relevant here as they effect which services continue beyond Knutsford and where they go. Someone from Altrincham/Hale would be better off changing at Wilmslow if they want Macclesfield or using the train if they want Northwich.

Have they allowed for operators in Greater Manchester running non-franchised services either in addition to the franchise requirements or for contracts not awarded by TfGM? My understanding is the 88 and 391/392 will not be affected by Greater Manchester franchising but it would be logical if an operator had a depot in Altrincham or Stockport that they could bid for the Cheshire East contract and run it from the same depot.

Obvious question is will it be like London where all buses are the same colour or will it be like National Express coaches where the normal vehicles are in the correct livery but occasionally other vehicles will get used?

That’s exactly what I’m on about I’m guessing they’ll be in some kind of TfGM livery similar to the old GM Buses livery or Selnec.

That's the plan for major operators but small.operators will keep ownership of their own depots.

In relation to a standard livery, its far more likely they'll keep the yellow and silver of Metrolink

I was thinking it would good to use the same livery as the trams but with an orange front but I have also thought it would be good idea to have a group of colours depending on the route type to make the buses more accessible and separate the different services but the metrolink would look nice on buses
