A shame if true as I was hoping to pop over to Northwich this week to ride them. Any ideas if the last serviceable volvo B7 (4104 think it is) is still on the road????? Nice buses the B7s & quite well liked by the drivers, the enviro 400 deckers are decent as well although I'm not a fan of the sapphire spec. |

RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
Anybody else getting a sinking feeling regards arriva macc????? Saw on another thread that D&G are taking over the 109 leek - macc service from september. With them having competitive fares similar to arriva's people are more tempted to use them more now. Makes me wonder if they'll consider taking on macc fully? Suspect that might happen with the way things are going. Plus with a load of drivers having walked out on arriva & gone to work for D&G or stagecoach. Pay & better conditions I've had quoted from a couple of drivers I know as reasons why they've walked. Noticed t'other day when I walked my dog past that macc depot at gaw end lane is still shut. Plus emergency timetables are still in place on all the macc local routes. This is really starting to annoy passengers now as it can be an hour wait for a bus. |

I thought most routes in Macc were back to normal times from today. I agree with the general point that Arriva don't seem too interested in this area. |

Has the 109 (or earlier equivalent routes) ever been been operated by the big companies? Before Aimees it was operated by Clowes Coaches. North Western/Arriva have had the 27 Macclesfield-Knutsford twice - once when they took over Starline and once when they took over Stevensons, they also obviously had the 130 until recently and had the 392/393 before Bakers, so they've lost a lot of routes before the routes which no longer exist at all are considered. |

I suppose if you go back far enough then Macclesfield to Leek and Ashbourne was part of the X1/201 from Manchester to Derby. Stagecoach Manchester, First PMT and First Manchester all ran it for spells. https://flic.kr/p/fHC4Aq https://flic.kr/p/fL3cpW https://flic.kr/p/am3UGQ |

Double decks have appeared on the 38 since Monday and, from what I've seen, seem to be on a 3 hour cycle, which implies that they no longer interwork with the 10. |

RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
Heard off a macc driver today that macclesfield depot isn't looking likely to reopen. Apparently part of the gaw end lane site has been sold off for housing. So macc services will continue to be run from winsford from now on it seems. |
