Across the Mersey, the first X2 from Preston runs OOS via the M6 and M58 then takes up service at Thornton/Crosby at 05.10. The driver must have to sign in about 04.00. |

Presumably then the 6 & 7 will interwork with the 2 journeys that terminate at Ellesmere Port? My Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/31135444@N02/ |

Do they run dead or is it ran by both Rock Ferry and Chester? Also I’ve noticed some journeys arrive in Chester 50 minutes or so before the next journey out - does it interwork with another route? Surely that can’t be the layover Chester are solely running the 22 |

Surely that can’t be the layover There is a 4th bus which comes out at 10.29 and does 1 round trip then comes off (13.37). This works really well with the 16 peak extra/23 bus. If the 4th bus isn't added in, the timetable will be more messed up as it's needed to keep the hourly frequency. That is why on Saturday 3 buses are hourly then 1h.15 gap then 3 buses hourly. The spare bus could be used for shuttles or just as a general spare to keep services going. Depending what gets sent out, it a local bus is late, it could help to bring the service back quicker. |

Not much of a good deal for Chester to loose the X8 in place of the 6/7/22 |

The 22 was always going to go back to Chester at some point , it was a natural route for Chester and sort of very odd for Rock Ferry to operate . |

I don't think it was The first incarnation of the 22 before Stagecoach pulled the route first time round was operated by Chester ,only reason second time round it was operated by Rock Ferry is they had no spare room for the vehicles because the depot was full at Chester , same goes for the two routes operating in and around Ellesmere Port. Stagecoach hierachy must think Rock ferry worthy to give all of the Chester - Liverpool market to them. |
