Don't think Manchester are doing that with there hybrids has they have about 3 types of deckers (Enviro400,E400 hybrid and the MMC) and engineering will know which one is which, probably explains why they get awards every year.

Shame the routers don't know which one is which. In fact it is a mystery to me why they keep winning awards. Up until 2014 yes, but now?......

Any news yet on who if anyone bagged 17612? Hope it's been preserved as always a decent bus & the interior was in good nick, drivers said it was a nice drive too.

The rumours surrounding it have been flying since it was withdrawn, with "Someone's bought it" non stop since. It was one of the better Tridents at the time and I believe the Engineering Director hasn't let it go for a rap as he recognises the significance of it, only issue is they have been asking quite a lot for it

If no one can afford to buy it, why don't Stagecoach fit it (and 18148) with a Euro4 engine - as they did with the ex London/Merseyside ones - and replace a couple of the godawful Enviro400s at Hyde Road with them? Or even re-instate them as is, given that Euro3s are making a comeback, to cover whilst they re-upholster all the aforementioned Enviro400s (about 70 in total)

I travelled on it often until its withdrawal and yes it is a cracking bus but the interior was 'threadbare' to say the least. Think that's what made it so special the fact it still retained its original moquette.

Because it doesn’t meet the guidelines for accessibility.

Not really a problem for Hyde Road as they have so few tenders. Surely, they could avoid one bus out of an allocation of nearly 200 being used on tenders. On second thoughts, given how often 19116 is on the 42A..............
