I noticed a few services struggling for time today. One 38 Journey was 14 mins late into BHead Bus Station from WK heading towards Eastham Ferry. Also noted that the 80/82 is always late. The 82 service should depart Wk towards Greasby at 02 mins past however the inward journey arrives late and it still has to do the 80 journey on a loop before starting the 82. I saw one 80 journey not leaving until 04 mins past meaning the 82 was already late. I know these services are new but the timings may Red to be adjusted.

It seems like today the residents of Upton Lane are going to make the lives of the drivers of the service 1 as today there there was numerous cars parked in the road with posters demanding that the Route 1 be rerouted away from the road.

The problem was more that these cars where all parked on the road but forcing the buses to do a slalom course down the road , no car was parked half on half off the pavement .

So basically this is a battle of wills between the residents and Stagecoach Management .

Notwithstanding you only mention (bus) drivers, not passengers (!), can you expand on the background to this as the latest service 1 timetable on the Merseytravel website is dated 10 weeks ago and only mentioned t/t changes not route changes?
Apologies if its upthread somewhere and refers to some very short notice change for some reason.

Service 1 was rerouted via Upton Lane instead of Mill Lane to allow the possibility of Double Deckers to be used . This secton of road is between Chester Zoo and Bache Morrison's.

When was this, as I don't understand why this has cropped up as a problem now, if any official (ie. registered) change wasn't recent?

It was the change before last .

From the looks of the posters on the cars this has been simmering for a while .

There was a similar protest in Port Sunlight which resulted in the 38 being placed back on its original route .

This protest in Upton Lane will result in one of three things .

1. Stay on the same route and just see if the protests die down

2. Reroute back on to Mill Lane

3. Reroute from Chester Zoo , via Mostyn Road and Liverpool Road
