RE: Stagecoach Chester & Wirral
According to CWACC, Stagecoach have the following changes from 2nd September 23-NEW ROUTE- Hail and ride from Chester to Mollington (2 trips) 16- reverting to pre summer timetable (since when did Chester do summer timetables? I thought that was a Liverpool and Manchester thing) 5/5A - minor timetable changes (thank god. The service is hardly carrying anyone anymore due to its reliability). 51- timetable amendments 605- extended to Mollington (possibly in preparation for the S1 being removed) X2- timetable amendments X8- timetable amendments Inc extra trips on Sundays C56 withdrawn 5- extended to Farndon/Wrexham (to my knowledge this will be numbered the 5A though to ease confusion). 8/9- timetable amendments and some trips extended to Guilden Sutton (anyone know if the extensions are Saturday only or are Arrwoebrook dropping that bit on the 26?) Some very very interesting changes here. I can't wait to see them in action. |

It's a shame the C56 is getting Withdrawn as it seemed to do alright with D.Jones For Blog Posts Containing all the latest in the local Bus Scene The 2002 Bus Blog Subscribe to my Youtube Channel, Updated regularly! All my Social Media Links here! https://linktr.ee/TerencePrice |

RE: Stagecoach Chester & Wirral
If I understand correctly from what others have said, the Huntingdon 5 will see some journeys extended and possibly renumbered to cover the withdrawn C56. Have to say though, I've never known an area to have so many duplicated service numbers as the Chester area - what with three different service 1s, a couple of different 5s, soon to be 5As possibly too, as well as the different 9's and maybe others. |

(12/07/2018 16:19)Nwales Bus Wrote: My guess that the new 23 journeys are positioning journeys for thr new 605 I never thought of that. I thought it was just a tender to serve Mollington. When the 22 stopped serving the village, people weren't happy so the council compromised with the bus stops at the golf course (which lets' face it are no good for most people). Looking at the registration, it would seen it is commercial so probably is as you say, positioning but that is weird given that the 605 starts and ends at the depot. Stagecoach don't often do positioning moves in the sense of new routes. They do normally do positioning using existing routes (for example if they ran extras on the 5 and 9 to get buses to and from the depot rather than running dead into town). If they use the 23 as a positioning move, it makes me wonder why they aren't doing a 41W from the depot into Town, a route which a lot more buses run dead. The fact is is Hail and Ride instantly says to me it is for the village as well and not positioning as Parkgate Road has bus stops. |
