Think the 901 started in 1988, 118/119 has lasted longer but i think a tweek in Wallasey as it now goes down Atherton Street, Albion Street, Dudley Road, Hamilton Road, Mount Road, to Mount Pleasant Road rather than Rowson Street, Seabank Road, Magazine Lane,
Mount Pleasant Road.

902 Upton Library-Overchurch, was probably the most pointless bus rote ever, only served 3 stops, which you can walk in 10-15 minutes maybe less, introduced when the Upton By Pass was extended to the Moreton Spur Road.

The 118/119 also got tweaked at the Eastham end as up until I think it was the 41/42 was reintroduced during the evenings and on Sundays both routes used to operate from Mill Park Drive/Clifton Avenue - Eastham Rake - Brookhurst Avenue - Allport Road the tweak then saw it operate Mill Park Drive,Clifton Avenue - Eastham Rake - Plymyard Avenue - Allport Road the route which it still operates today

118/119 got tweeked in Wallasey early 2000s when Arriva withdrew the Evening & Sunday 7A/8E or whatever 4xx numbers they became, New Brighton-Moreton, which would have left that part of Wallasey without an Evening & Sunday service.

The 240 Overchurch Road-Mill Park had a long run unchanged, until Avon commercialised it to 40/40A, 240 lasted for over 20 years with no daytime equivalent, after Merseybus withdrew the 40 in the late 80s

Granted some of these routes have been replaced in full and others in part by in the main Avon and in some cases Stagecoach and Arriva and then others have been combined into other Merseytravel routes but over the years I reckon Merseytravel have saved a fair few quid with changes to tendered services on the Wirral
And I am guessing that other forum members can add to the above list of lost or changed Merseytravel changes on the Wirral over the years

I wonder what the outcome of the review will have on the 129 (Liscard - Frankby Cemetry) The route is the same as the old 29 from the MPTE days. As far as I am aware the route has never changed since the first day of operation which if this is the case is in my view the longest unchanged tendered service in Wirral (and who knows maybe Merseyside) Granted during this time it has been operated by a number of various operators and it doesn;t really fit easily into the 118/119 or the 124/125 just because of the nature of the route and times it operates. Will be interesting to see if Merseytravel keep this lightly used service or whether it gets consigned to the annals of history

Great Shout! Thanks totally forgot about the 129 Frankby Cementry Sunday only service which as you say has never altered. I don't think stopping this service will save a great deal of Money

I use the 129 sometimes on a Sunday When I am on it it's actually really busy for a once per week Service

Now that the first consultation has ended hopefully the proposed changes will be up soon, anyone got any predictions on what's changing? I wonder if Arriva will take over the current evening 411 & 492/495 from Avon Buses.

What will happen over the 293 As not many people use it now
