There is a suggestion that Sharston will remove theirs from traffic with the withdrawal of the 84, but given their age, I suspect they will be placed in reserve. That would syill leave 7x 55 regs at WN, along with 15 or so 06 reg at ST, and four slightly older ones at AZ.

AFAIAA, there are only ten 55-reg MANs at Wigan (22351-8/61/2), so if 22352-8/61 are earmarked to leave, then that would leave them with two (22351/62), not seven.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
The inbound 400s to Wigan will be 19101, 111-118, 120 and 130. With 36111/2 also following

22394-400, 47559/620 are also due out of Stockport being replaced by Enviro200's from MN

The moves will take place when the MMc's arrive at Middleton from late next month on a like for like basis rather than one full fleet move

RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
The only list I have personally seen myself shows the departures from Middleton and what will be moving out as a result of only

Basic summary of what I've seen

MN-22 MMC's Into the fleet with 19101, 111-118, 120, 130 to Wigan, 36112/3 to Wigan, 36105-10, 113, 428/9 to Stockport (22MMCs in, 22 buses out)

47774 reduced to taxis/Corrie only with Middleton loosing the staff car 91689 as a result

19100 is supposedly staying as the Sole of its kind at the depot but plans are being made to get rid of that as well (as it's pointless fleet wise to keep one)

22394-400, 47559/620 Out from Stockport (destination unknown to me)

22352-8, 361, 521, 582/3/6/7 out from Wigan (destination unknown)

From the next fleet add due

WN -19328/9/331/407-10/493 on top of there current Enviro400s.

Sharston gain 12233-46

Although I don't know what the current fleet is at Hyde Road so can't personally tell what's making the return trip

Have they won a massive number of Lancashire or Merseyside School contracts mid year, or something?

From what I have heard, the 600s are scheduled to be converted to double deck to alleviate capacity issues that they suffer from at peak / school times. I suppose other services (i.e. at least some of 540, 598, 658) could also be converted to double deck also, so that all of the inter-urban routes are, but the Wigan locals remain single deck.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
Sounds like they'll all be gone soon enough then; it would be strange if 22351 lingered as the only one of its type. I'd better catch them while I can - especially 22521 which I haven't even seen yet.

Re 22362, I don't know about its status on paper, but I am pretty sure it did physically return to Wigan, as I have a memory of seeing it in the yard in the last six months or so. I thought I'd also seen it out in service, but I am less sure about that. At any rate, Stagecoach don't seem too fussy about using buses that are officially in reserve; and it was re-taxed at the beginning of last month. I will keep an eye out for it.

I would have thought 22400 should read 22391, except that 22391 has already been withdrawn "on paper" but continued in service at ST.

The HE situation should be the easiest to find out about elsewhere - especially once its clear whether 42A/42B will be hybrid operated or remain diesel.

The two buses that I've seen on the 42B this morning were 10042 and 12228

Just out of interest with HE now operating all 42s again now including obviously 42 Stockport-Manchester service, I wonder whether or not (I very much doubt it) in time whether we'll see 42s back interworking with 203s in Stockport like they used to years ago when HE orginally operated both 42s and 203s.

I know with 203s being every 10mins (and obviously traffic problems) this probably couldnt happen these days or maybe it could if it was just certain duties that interworked at Stockport.

19167 [Magic Bus] on the 42B this morning and 19362 on the 50

Just after lunch saw 12256,19483 and 12222 on 42B

12055,12224,12227 on 42A

19474 in 42

19488 on 50

The only one of those that may have changed depots is 12256

MMC's for Middleton is surely some sort of a wind up! Once again the operations are unbelievably poor and do not warrant new buses!
