Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
to support cx54's thoughts..it's odd how when your abroad you see so many man buses but you never see one broken down but over here it's the exact opposite

Same with Scania tri axles actually as well

Bring Back Arriva Skelmersdale

The Pulsars which went to Malta for a prolonged period suffered when they first came back, in part due to temperature differences.

There is also dry heat and humid heat as well as dry cold and damp cold all bring differing problems with them .

Nonsense. Continental eastern Europe experiences a far greater range of temperatures and weather than the UK yet does not suffer breakdowns as frequently as we do here. I think the fact that the vehicles are more robust is to do with the engineering specifications which adds to the overall cost.

2496 has broke down on Parr St, a 5 minute walk from the depot

Anyone know what diversion the 360 had to take this morning between Winwick and Newton? Noticed 2711 had to turn onto Hollins Lane at Winwick Church heading for Wigan due to police cars blocking the usual route.

Probably the road had just closed and the driver of 2711 never knew of the incident. My guess would be M6 J22 to J23 and go toward Newton. As I say only a guess.

Edit: Possibly to Hermitage Green and straight on along the A573 to Golbourne

It was obviously very last minute the bus was parked half on the kerb on Hollins Lane/Alder Lane facing towards Burtonwood, the bus moved off as I passed so it's only option really was to continue to Burtonwood or possibly turn left at Watery Lane and head along the side of B&Q as it had already missed the turning for the two routes you've mentioned.

Could possibly turn right at swan pub like the 19 then turn off and come out by the garden centre in newton where the 34/360 split going to leigh/wigan but would need to miss newton station .

That's the A573 isn't it?

Yeah golborne Rd, as that would of been the easiest way for both the 22 and 360 as 360 could of still served newton as it could of just span round in the newton station turning circle.
