RE: First Manchester
Problems round Bury on Wednesday were probably caused by a combination of factors: 1> Wednesday its Bury Market day 2> Roadworks or TC (not to sure which as I wasn't about) round Bury Bridge, I know Bury Bridge junction has been causing problems allot recently |

RE: First Manchester
Thanks for the info. From what I heard routes 471, 472/4 & 524 where severely disrupted. Much more than usual (up to 2 hours). However there was also severe delays on Friday afternoon (even for market day). I had to cancel an appointment at 3 because I couldn't make it in time. I doubt it is the road works at heap bridge as that wouldn't affect 472 unless there are some on Walmersley road, or there was another RTA. I hope everything will be back to normal next week. |

First Manchester have thanked passengers for the patience shown having to tolerate the roadworks at Oldham Road/Droylsden Road in Newton Heath last month (me for one). From the First website: Quote:Thanks from First during road work disruption http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/greater_...151&conf=0 |

RE: First Manchester
I got 36300 today. It's rather quiet, the window in the stairs looks cool but I bet some people would be against the idea. |

RE: First Manchester
I am confused with the bendy's and similar Scania's, they say Omnicity on the side but I can't be certain since I've found sources saying they're actually Omnilink. Are the engines different? Edit: actually I think they might be Mercedes engined, not sure. |

RE: First Manchester
23:04 I've heard there is currently a large fire in Tottington near Elton, Tottington road appears to be closed although I think it is located near Guardian angels RC primary school. 23:27 Update: The fire is in an industrial building opposite Elton Primary school (not Guardian angels) on Alston st, from what I've heard the area is possibly being evacuated. There is apparently a gas bottle recycling centre behind. http://www.burytimes.co.uk/news/11601772...e_in_Bury/ |

Are the engines different? The earlier version of the single-deck OmniCity was known as the CN94UA/CN94UB (A denoting articulated, B denoting rigid). But the Euro4 version was known as the CN230UA/CN230UB or CN270UA/CN270UB, the 230 and 270 indicate the maximum power (in hp) of the engine. The engine is mounted transversely, and it has a low floor throughout. The Scania OmniLink differs in that it has a longitudinally mounted engine, and is not low-floor throughout, i.e like most buses on the British market. The codes are: CL94U[A/B] as Euro3, CK230U[A/B], CK270U[A/B],CK310U[A/B] as Euro4 - again the number denoting the maximum horse-power.
