Closure of bus lanes in Liverpool
RE: Closure of bus lanes in Liverpool.
The only bus lane I think is a waste of time is the one on warbreck moor, its pretty pointless and the arriva services (300,311,345,350) and the avon 122 have to fight for a space slowing down other vehicles as the bus is in the wrong lane for proceeding straight ahead which most buses do except for the cumfybus services which turn left. Although it is only a part time one alos it means that people who park on warbreck moor (infront of their homes) in allocated parking bays technically cannot leave their home between 7:30 and 9:30 doesn't it?

Officially the bus would be in the correct lane leading off the bus lane. The right hand lane traffic has to merge into the left lane. Another example of a ridiculous planned junction!!!

You can cross a live bus lane to enter the main traffic lane whilst it is in operation , but you must not travel along it to try and merge into it , so technically speaking they can leave there properties between 07.30 and 09.30 , it would have been very hard to prevent them from doing so .

Arriva seem to be really pushing there campaignto "save our lanes" - full page advert in the Echo on Saturday and yesterday, and I noticed a couple of bus stops also have full adverts too. This all seems to be coming from Arriva - Stagecoach havent mentioned anything, nor have Merseytravel so far they have been very quiet - very odd given its meant to be pro bus -surely 3 companies voices joined together is louder than just 1?

Stagecoach have posters up on their buses behind the drivers compartment inside but that's about it

If you're against the City Council's decision to derestrict the bus lanes, you might as well sign Arriva's petition;

The city council only wants to see how the roads work without traffic restrictions , but it is sounding like Arriva is tryting to bully the council into getting the bus lanes back sooner .

Maybe a good idea maybe a bad idea , but lets see at the end of the day .

wirralbus, you say that Arriva is bullying the council about this.
Have you seen evidence of intimidating tactics, or something like that?

Its just a case of letting the council see where the problems are and not making screaming at the council , some of the bus lanes will come back thats for sure , but it needs to be looked at in a calm way.
