RE: Arriva North West - Birkenhead Depot
There seemed to be more Liverpool based buses on the cross river services today than Laird street ones, with at least 4 or more s/d's including 2956,2988,2906 and 2575.How many hybrids are needed for rail replacement or are a few off the road? Incidently 4509 was on 409 this afternoon also 2496 was on 418 Have Arriva got that many spare buses they don't need them in Liverpool? |

I saw three rail replacements at Chester station today at the same time, is this really needed. Trains are running to Bache through the day |

Much easier to interchange between train and bus there whereas Bache is a bit of a hike due to the infamous low bridge. |

There's a fair few enviro400s here, the hybrids are on rails and the enviros are on service work as I believe the allocator has been told to do this by management, possibly a request from Merseyrail? . The single decks on cross rivers yesterday are all Birkenheads own, 2496 keeps moving around depots as its a pool bus along with the other cadet which is currently here 2489? I think. Its unclear if 4102 is a permanent allocation or just a loan, 4103 was out yesterday and 4106 is awaiting parts. |

Arriva just provide the buses that Merseyrail ask for as per the contract, dont forget they may have a few buses parked up in a row which seems overkill but Merseyrail pay for a number of buses to sit around on standby all day for use incase of a breakdown or overcrowding, usually one (sometimes more) at each end of the route theyre running however not always the case, sometimes just one end. I think they have standbys at Hooton and Chester this time around. |
