The whole cut 5 buses to reduce costs doesn't sound right, surely its more a case of cut anything which isn't meeting profit margins, or tighten up slackness in timetables where possible to try and reduce the PVR by maybe 1 or 2 buses to save running an extra bus. In most cases on the Wirral at least the running times are already stretched and other than pulling off routes and trips theres not much they can cut back.

Its correct in the case of Birkenhead's route 2, stagecoach are dominant and the majority use stagecoach's cheaper fares, so id imagine they are making a loss hence why its taken off, but saying they are going to axe 5 buses from each depot to save money regardless doesn't sound right to me, especially on very profitable routes.
