RE: First Manchester
First Manchester have thanked passengers for the patience shown having to tolerate the roadworks at Oldham Road/Droylsden Road in Newton Heath last month (me for one).
From the First website:
Quote:Thanks from First during road work disruption
Following the recent completion of major road works on the A62, First has today issued a statement of thanks to all their customers and drivers during the disruption.
Major road works have been taking place on the A62 Oldham Road/Droylsden Road while Northern Gas carried out emergency work to replace gas pipes.
The works affected services X80, 83, X84, 180, 181, 182 & 184 where buses have been delayed during periods of heavy congestion.
To help reduce delays First have worked closely with our local partners TfGM and the local council to manage the highway as effectively as possible.
First also used extra drivers and buses to fill gaps and ensure every effort was made to run services as reliably as possible. In addition First put staff on the ground in key locations to help manage services and keep customers informed.
Ian Hulse, Business Manager for First said, "I'd like to give my thanks to all our customers who have been so patient during these gas works. We've done our best to minimise disruption with extra buses and drivers as well as more staff in key locations. In addition I'd like to thank all our Oldham team who have worked tirelessly to ensure our services operated as close to normal service as possible."
