Well, no. You said biggest event, full stop, so it's your ambiguity not my misunderstanding. The point stands regardless.

Anyway, a great example of a much busier event by night is the erstwhile Mathew Street Festival. 300,000 - 350,000 used to go to that, and the festivities often went on well beyond midnignt. I don't remember a flurry of night buses for that occasion, either.
